Employer
Sponsored Group Life Insurance
The growth of employer sponsored group life insurance
has
been tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other analysts from
it's inception and data from the 'BLS' Employee Benefits Survey indicate that
most full-time employees in the nation's medium to large private
establishments i.e. those with greater than 100 employees, are provided
group life insurance that
is at least partially financed by their employers. Additionally, nearly
two-thirds of full-time employees in small establishments receive life
insurance benefits as well.

Many Employees Do
Not Have Other Life Insurance
Many employees have not invested in any other life
insurance and the benefits provided by their employer are the only security
available for them and their family. For most businesses,
employer-sponsored group life insurance has become a standard part of the
employee compensation package and as the employee benefits spectrum
continues to broaden, it is a fair assessment that employer sponsored life
insurance will remain a standard part of the total employee benefits
package.
